As already announced in this forum, from 09/01/06 Brazilian flight company OceanAir (www.oceanair.com.br) starts flying from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to the Northeast. Main destinations are Salvador, Porto Seguro, Maceió, Recife and Fortaleza. Flight São Paulo (CGH) – Salvador (SSA) costs 350 BRL.
OceanAir accepts online bookings. But at the moment the website in only in Portuguese. You can pay by credit cards Visa, Master/Euro and Diners. Equipment are jets Fokker MK-28.
A bargain is the fare of 200 BRL for the route Porto Seguro – Salvador. Until now the monopoly price was higher than from Salvador to São Paulo or Rio de Janeiro.
Below are the main destinations in the Northeast and fares:
São Paulo (CGH) – Salvador – R$ 350,00
Porto Seguro – Salvador – R$ 200,00
São Paulo (CGH) – Porto Seguro – R$ 300,00
São Paulo (CGH) – Rio de Janeiro (GIG) – R$ 100,00
Rio de Janeiro (GIG) – Maceió – R$ 400,00
Rio de Janeiro (GIG) – Fortaleza – R$ 450,00
São Paulo (CGH) – Aracaju – R$ 450,00
São Paulo (CGH) – Maceió – R$ 450,00
São Paulo (CGH) – Recife – R$ 500,00
Fortaleza – São Paulo (CGH) – R$ 500,00
Fortaleza – Maceió – R$ 300,00
Besides this, OceanAir offers a ‘Mini-Air Pass’ (Passe Verão) for the Northeast from Salvador to Fortaleza. Price is 399 BRL for up to 3 destinations.
With 100 BRL lowest price of the market is the flight from São Paulo/Congonhas (CGH), the city airport of São Paulo, to Rio de Janeiro.
